Reconstruction & Cultural Integration
Juxtaposition of Traditional & Contemporary Architecture
Use of Ratios for Aesthetic & Sustainable Design

The project is consisted of the complete reconstruction of the neoclassical building that is currently situated on site, and the addition of a new building, which will collaboratively house a plethora of cultural spaces.

The aim of the design is to respect and highlight the façade and the envelope of the existing building as a revival of the past and to create a new background for that with the addition of a new elegant monolithic building. The traditional architecture is juxtaposed with a contemporary design approach characterized by simplicity in the construction and structure of the facades. The verticality and symmetry of the facades of the existing building are highlighted and the use of Ratios play a critical role in the design, serving as fundamental tools for creating a balanced, functional, and aesthetically pleasing structure.

Ratios play a very important role in the distribution of natural light, with window-to-wall ratios being a key consideration in the sustainable design of the new building to maximize daylight while minimizing heat loss or gain.
